In 2008 he received his Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York. Dr. Shiue fulfilled his clinical training at the Naval ambulatory care center where he was the first extern to receive the Naval Officer in Charge’s award for excellence. He also completed rotations at the Southwest Veterans Affairs Hospital in Tucson, AZ, the Ocular Disease and Glaucoma Institute in New York City, and the Pediatrics and Vision Therapy clinic also in New York City. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries.
